why remodel 1 room when you can remodel 3? Or 5?

So... after tearing out the one bathroom (I shall mockingly refer to it as the big bathroom because it is/was the big bathroom - the other is smaller by a few square feet), it dawned on us that this was not nearly enough work and if we could just move a few walls around, completely redo the plumbing, and put in new windows, then it would be a renovation worthy of our track record.

Okay, that's not exactly how the train of thought went. It went more like this - geez, this is a lot of work. Maybe for just a little more work, we could have a master-suite style bathroom, a walk-in closet and still have 2 spare bedrooms. Could it be done? We were not sure, but we gave ourselves 6 days (the door-staining/sanding days) to decide. After that, if we were unable to rework the drawings to fit a master bedroom and 2 other rooms and 2 larger bathrooms, we would go back to Plan A - basic bathroom remodel.

Well, less than a day later and Dave had an idea - one we had seen recently while traveling - and well, we fell in love with the idea. Many hours of Visio later, we felt like we had a working plan that would give us everything we want: an en-suite bathroom with a separate water closet, separate wet-area with walk-in shower and soaking tub, a bedroom large enough to fit a king size bed, and a closet-area which is not exactly walk-in, more like walk-thru or walk-past, while still retaining the all-important 3/2 (3 bedrooms, 2 baths) status, which is crucial for resale.

All that? And all we have to do is move 3 walls, build a few more, install new windows (needs doing anyway), and tear apart all existing bedrooms and closets. Let's go!
