Three easy visits and a big check later and we have walls ready for priming. So this weekend we'll do some painting. Shouldn't be too bad since we don't have to worry about getting paint on the floor. Of course, finding someone to install a floor is one of the next tasks. So far we've had a bid we consider too high ($3000) and are waiting on a bid from the "professionals" at Tulip. I bet they'll come in higher. So it's quite likely we'll need to get another bid or two.
We also are not decided on the color of the walls. And whether or not the bathroom and the bedroom should be the same color or not? So many decisions.
Hey, look - it's an art nook! Our very own art nook.
We also have the ipe now (picture stacked in our entry way). It's quite lovely. The 3/4" planks will be for the tub wall and the 1"-thick boards will form the shower floor. Getting tongue-and-groove ipe is apparently impossible on this coast. Florida, sure, here not so much. So we had to router our own groove. Get your groove on, I say. Dave did most of the router work himself this week. The boards now fit together in a way we designed to give them a little texture and to hide how they fit together. It looks quite awesome. Photo coming soon. We need to sand them a bit, although not as much as we'll need to sand the planks for the floor. Ipe splinters are no fun. The rest of the ipe we'll use for the sink vanity and the small cabinet in the water closet.
Oh, and the really cool, really strong magnets arrived yesterday! They are not a toy. Ha.
