Saturday was a long day. We divided up the tasks so we could get more done. I sanded and stained the Ipe for the tub wall. (Pictured is the Ipe all lined up before sanding and staining). Then I got to work on putting the first primer coat on the drywall in the bedroom, closet, and bathroom.
Meanwhile, Dave cut a hole in the floor for the shower drain, and installed the "shower pan", which really isn't a pan at all, but a Styrofoam form. It's part of the Kerdi system. It was a pre-made 4'x4' form. After it was in place, he had to fill in around it with more cement to slope towards the drain since our shower will be 4' by 5.5'. When he finished with all that, he picked up another roller and helped me finish the primer coat.
I think we got done about 9pm. Long day.
