The big gaping hole in my roof

So it turns out, when you remove a fireplace, it leaves a hole. In this case, a big, gaping hole!

California has mild winters. It’s 45F right now and won’t drop below 40 over night. Still, walls with no insulation and no drywall, coupled with a gaping hole in the ceiling, make for a pretty chilly January. Time to go find a blanket!
