Well, yes, we've been a little lazy on the construction front. But that doesn't mean we've done nothing.
For one, plumbing be gone! We finally got around to finishing the vanity for the bathroom sink. Previously, it looked like the pic on the right here. Egads - exposed plumbing! I do not like exposed plumbing. I know it's been seen in some magazines, and I know you can get "pretty"-looking pipes, but I am against it. It is meant to be hidden.
Thus, voila - we have covered it up! We used Ipe - actually the leftover from the shelving and the wall and floor of the shower. We built it in a similar manner to the wall, so that the boards are over-lapping, providing a nice textured appearance, instead of simply flat.
One of the biggest challenges was cutting out around the shape of the sink! We made mock-ups using cardboard to help out.
